Social pedagogy versus social work in a Swedish context

In Sweden there are several different professions that work within the welfare sector. Two of these social pedagogues and socionoms. This article examines similarities differences between professional fields by exploring four areas in more detail: education, history ideas theory, research practice. The results show not only many but also some similarities. practical work, socionoms often side perform similar tasks. They located same use methods. When it comes to educational current educations, they large although can be found in, for example, ideas. Furthermore, various differs. pedagogy interest has a greater extent been focused on an understanding discipline through studies ideas, while today one focuses Today’s challenges sector require new knowledge, ways thinking understanding. Here, with its philosophical roots humanistic values play important role.
